Before connecting

• Use an MCP-capable client and a Square account for hosted OAuth sign-in.
• The author’s bridge configuration uses Node.js and npx when the client does not connect directly to the hosted endpoint.

Square recommends the hosted server for most users. The optional local example sets SANDBOX=true and uses YOUR_SQUARE_ACCESS_TOKEN; keep sandbox and production credentials separate.
