Cas d'usage

Usages concrets : health-skillz

Ask plain questions about your lab result trends

👤 Patients tracking chronic conditions, cholesterol, A1c ⏱ ~15 min beginner

Quand l'utiliser : You've had repeated labs over months/years and want to see the trajectory, not just each result in isolation.

Prérequis
  • A patient portal with FHIR access — Most major US health systems support SMART on FHIR — check your portal for API/app access
  • Skill installed — git clone https://github.com/jmandel/health-skillz ~/.claude/skills/health-skillz
Déroulement
  1. Authenticate
Use health-skillz to connect to my Epic MyChart account.✓ Copié
→ Browser opens SMART launch; token stored locally
  2. Pull labs
Show my LDL, HDL, and A1c over the past 3 years as a trend.✓ Copié
→ Time-series table or summary with unit conversions
  3. Contextualize
Relate these to the guideline ranges. Don't give me medical advice — just surface what's in range vs not.✓ Copié
→ Explicit framing as reference ranges, not diagnosis

Résultat : A readable longitudinal view of your key labs — useful before your next appointment.

Pièges
  • Treating Claude's output as medical advice — Always bring questions to your actual clinician. This skill is for understanding your own records, not a second opinion.

Reconcile the medication list before an appointment

👤 Patients on multiple meds from multiple providers ⏱ ~10 min beginner

Quand l'utiliser : You're about to see a new specialist and want a clean, current med list.

Déroulement
  1. Fetch active meds
Use health-skillz. Pull my current medication list with dose, frequency, and prescribing provider.✓ Copié
→ Structured list with RxNorm codes resolved to names
  2. Spot duplicates and gaps
Any duplicate therapy, same-class redundancies, or meds that look expired?✓ Copié
→ Flags you can raise with your doctor

Résultat : A med list to hand your new provider on day one.

Pièges
  • Portals sometimes miss OTC meds — Supplement manually; the portal only shows what was prescribed via it

Export a relevant subset of records for a new specialist

👤 Patients changing providers or seeing a specialist ⏱ ~20 min intermediate

Quand l'utiliser : You're consolidating records for a second opinion.

Déroulement
  1. Filter
Use health-skillz. Pull all cardiology-related encounters, labs, and imaging from the last 2 years.✓ Copié
→ Filtered export grouped by encounter
  2. Format
Format as a one-page summary a specialist can skim in 30 seconds.✓ Copié
→ Compact doc with key dates, diagnoses, pertinent findings

Résultat : A portable summary you own — not a 200-page PDF dump.

Pièges
  • Losing nuance by summarizing — Always bring the full export as backup; summary is for quick triage

Dépannage

Erreurs courantes et correctifs

SMART launch fails with redirect error

Most portals require pre-registering the app's redirect URI. Check the skill's docs for your provider.

Empty results despite having data in portal

Your provider may restrict FHIR scopes; try narrower queries or contact support.

Lab codes show as raw LOINC IDs

Ensure the skill's code map is current; may need to update the clone.

Vérifier : cd ~/.claude/skills/health-skillz && git pull
